Whenever you like, because at Wilhelm Büchner University of Applied Sciences, there are no fixed semester start dates. As soon as you register, your own personal semester begins. You can also arrange a start date of your choice.
If you can’t find an answer to your question on these pages, please get in touch. Our student advisory team will be happy to help.
A master’s degree course lasts four semesters and an MBA course two semesters. However, you are not necessarily obliged to keep to these time frames, as we give you the option of studying faster or more slowly. If the standard course length is not sufficient, you can extend it by half – i.e. by twelve months for master’s courses and six months for MBA courses – free of charge.
Yes. The courses are designed so that you can fit them in with your personal schedule – and everything is perfectly organized to meet the needs of a working distance student. We recommend that you set aside around 15 to 20 hours a week.
All students at Wilhelm Büchner University receive a student ID card. This card proves that you are enrolled as a student at Wilhelm Büchner University of Applied Sciences.
The first four weeks of your studies are a free trial period. You can try out your studies without any commitment or costs. You have a statutory cancellation period of 14 days. In addition, Wilhelm Büchner University gives you a further two weeks to test the course and the service provided. Take your time! If you are still not satisfied and wish to exercise your right of cancellation, you will of course not be charged any tuition fees for this free trial, i.e. it costs nothing whatsoever. If you continue your distance learning course, these four weeks will be counted as part of the normal course length and charged at the rate set out on the inside pages of the registration form. You can still cancel after the four-week free trial, bearing in mind the agreed notice period.
Yes, of course. If something crops up, then you can take a break at any time. Your tuition fees are then suspended and you will receive no study materials for the agreed period. What you’ve already done still counts and you can simply pick up where you left off when you return.
No problem. Once the support service term has elapsed, you are entitled to extend it by half the original course length free of charge. In our experience, this gives students ample time to tailor their studies to their circumstances and obtain their degree. And there really is no need to worry. Even once the support service term has elapsed, we have a range of attractive offers to enable you to carry on studying. Simply talk to one of our student advisors for more information.
All our seminars are held as webinars, including those that prepare you for your exams. You can conveniently attend all these webinars from home or anywhere else. In terms of exams, we distinguish between individual B-assignments completed at home and written exams. Generally speaking, you will only have to travel somewhere to take written exams roughly every six months. We offer written exams every three months near your place of residence and at our headquarters in Germany, allowing you to choose a date that is convenient for you. On request, we will even arrange personal exam dates to fit in with your requirements.
Almost all of our study materials are available online. In addition, we will send you materials every three months in the mail. You can change this frequency at any time if you wish to receive materials more or less frequently. With us, you study at your own pace. If you have any further questions, please contact one of our student advisors.
